Got the best news today! After almost two years in speech therapy, Gray is finally testing in the normal range for both expressive language and receptive language. When he started, he was linguistically equal to 22 month old. He now tests out as a four year old! Needless to say we are so thrilled. With his particular type of language disorder, there is no guarantee for improvement in any degree. He has done so well, and I knew he would catch up to his peers. He is just too smart, determined, and with this new HUGE competitive spirit we see emerging - there's nothing he can't do. He actually beat my goal of having him caught up by Kindergarten.
His therapist is so adorable. Though she is so excited for Gray, she is disappointed to be losing him from her caseload. We have one more session with her next week and then she will put us on a home based plan. Some stuff we can do with him while at home to keep him churning ahead. They will keep monitoring him and check him in about 6 months to make sure he's still where he needs to be. We have been so fortunate to have had great support and guidance in helping Gray achieve his full potential.
In other fun early xmas news.... We were in the eviction process with our renter in Atlanta. A huge, ugly mess that made us both wish we didn't own that house. Anyhow, long story short, we just got word today that the renter paid in certified funds for November and December. WHEW! Hopefully now we'll be back on track and receiving rent when its due. Fingers tightly crossed!
